What would happen to your social media marketing if you couldn’t access Facebook? Cause you to panic we assume.
We’ve seen several posts from people who have been locked out or are unable to access Facebook or other social media accounts recently. When it comes to Facebook a quick google search will advise you what to do to get your account reinstated.
However, there are 5 things you need to do today to make sure that you can still access your Facebook and especially your page to make sure you can continue posting updates for your business.
1 Make sure you have at least 2 Page admins
Many pages are run by sole traders who have created a page and will be the only admin. Make someone else an admin of the page so that posts can continue to be shared. If there are more than one of you involved in the business, then make one of them a page admin also. If you are on your own, then make someone you trust and preferably live with an admin too.
Make sure the additional admin is created an admin and not the other choices you will be given. These will limit what they are able to do.
2 Nominate people to help you get back in
This is a step to enable you to access your Facebook profile. In profile settings choose “Security and login”. In the “setting up extra security” section you will be asked to nominate 3 – 5 people to be sent a code and login url for you to log back in.
3 Unrecognised Login information
In the same section turn on “Get alerts about unrecognised logins” This will alert you of logins at unrecognised locations. Contact Facebook if it isn't you.
4 Turn on two-factor authentication
This is highlighted by being first in the “security and login” section. This provides extra security for you. Once it is set up you can tell Facebook to accept logins on your computer, tablets and phone apps without having to go through the steps each time.
5 Make sure someone else knows all your login details
As a business owner you will have multiple login details not only for social media accounts but also your website and banking details. Fo rmore advice aboout how to avoid this take a look at our blog Could you be locked out
